Rhibear ~ Madam Solo ~ Dark Brooding Girl ~ Accio Jedi ~ Gryffinclaw ~ Just a doll Gaston kept a protective arm around Rosalyn until she was safely at her bed. He couldn't help but notice how unsteady she'd been on the way to the hospital wing, and it had him worried. He was so thankful River had intervened when he did; he didn't even want to think about what might've happened if she got worse! He was surprised River let him stay with Rose, but he was grateful to him for doing so. They probably would've argues if he hadn't; there was no way he was leaving her side until he was sure she was alright!
He took a seat in the chair beside the bed and almost immediately stood up again. Merlin's bead, that was the most uncomfortable chair he'd ever seen! A quick flick of his wand cast a cushioning charm. There, that was a little better. He wished River had kept the armchairs that were here when Joy was healer, but there wasn't time to think about that right now. Gaston took Rose's hand in both his own. "You'll feel better soon," he assured her with a forced smile, but his eyes were sad. He felt so utterly useless right now. Seeing his Rose sick was bad, but not being able to do anything for her was so much worse!
He had been so distracted that it took him until just now to notice the dog waiting by the bed. "Hey, boy," he said, smiling a little. One hand let go of Rosalyn's so he could give the dog a pat on the head. Normally Gaston didn't pet strange animals, but he'd seen Rose pet him without incident. And besides, he knew River wouldn't be irresponsible enough to allow a vicious dog in the hospital wing!
