First year Transfiguration was a nightmare, did
Cami know? River had no trouble recalling those memories, given that his older brother, Ryden, was of no help whatsoever when he sent out owls for him. He was a rubbish big brother but he improved so much over the years. He had to grow up and mature anyway.
“The challenge of the subject was my drive to be better at it. It was a good thing that I got through it...given that my vocation is to heal people.” It would have been really disastrous if he wasn’t good at the subject. Transfiguration proved itself to be very handy in emergency situations.
River kept a smile and nodded at appropriate times while Cami talked to him. He busied himself petting Bonsai...realizing how relaxing it was to be with a well-behaved cat.
“Yes. I spent my first five years here in Hogwarts. I transferred out to Castelobruxo after my OWLs to continue my study there.” He said grinning at the memory.
“My parents didn’t like the idea of course, but I sort of argued that it would help me greatly in certain subjects. Subjects that would put me in an advantageous position when I do my Pre-Healer studies.” It was a clever move to be honest, and his parents had no choice but to crack Gringgott’s and send him to Brazil.
The Healer obviously would’ve loved to spend the rest of the morning with Camilla but the sneeze, and the restlessness of Gaston and Rosalyn caught his eyes. A very quick assessment of Rosalyn was done from where he sat, and he knew that he was needed. The look Gaston gave him didn’t go unnoticed as well, prompting him that he was welcome to intervene.
“Camilla, you mentioned that you would like to meet Roscoe and Bumi, correct?” he asked as he placed Bonsai on the floor and procured his little squeeze bottle of disinfectant,
“I think today is the perfect time to meet them.” He said gesturing his head towards his other colleagues across while he inconspicuously applied and rubbed his sanitizer in his hands.
“I believe, duty calls. Rosalyn doesn’t look good.” He added smiling apologetically towards Camilla.
“I had a lovely chat with you Camilla. I’ll see you around then,” he said rising from his seat, bowing down to look at Bonsai.
“You too, Bonsai. It was nice to meet you.”
River took a few strides from their table to the other, and grinned at
Gaston and
Rosalyn.
“A sneeze, a jacket over your shoulders...and perhaps loss of appetite?” he started as he tucked his hands in front of him looking down at Rosalyn, then to Gaston.
“That could mean that your temperature is dropping from a suspected fever...and colds.” He said as he crouched and inspected Rosalyn’s eyes,
“Your eyes probably feel heavy, soon it will be watery if we don’t treat it now.” He added as he straightened up and tucked his hands inside his trousers’ pockets.
“No ifs or buts for you, Rosalyn. Gaston, if you could please escort her to the Hospital Wing’s Check In Area, yes?” River was sure that he didn’t need to tell Gaston things, so instead of waiting for his answer, the Healer excused himself as he went outside the door and made his way towards his wing to prep one of the beds for Rosalyn.
