Her dad had told her to deliver the letter he'd written as soon as possible, and so at the first moment she could, Hazel made sure it was tucked into her robes and she set off for Professor Hernandez's hut. Racing down onto the grounds, he hurried as fast as her legs could carry her.
Arriving at his hut, she spotted a dog chilling outside. Cautious around any new animals, Hazel slowed to a walk so as not to startle the creature. "Hey there," she called ahead. "Are you a friendly dog?" She approached slowly, walking up to the door, but keeping her eyes on the pup.
She knocked on the door, her other hand clutching her dad's letter. She wondered what he wrote...
