Ellie let herself a small smile of triumph at the praise. HE was right - she had been. And she would be again soon, it seemed, she thought as she mentally went through all the databases she had to check their files against to make sure nothing was out of date.
She loved feeling on top of things. It was so immensely... satisfying.
Oh, but where was her co-worker?
"I'm not entirely sure... she should be back by now," Ellie responded to the question a bit hesitantly. She wasn't even sure where the girl had gone. Oops. Should they be keeping better track of one another?
"Thank you, I will," she added as her boss made to leave.
