When Louis had first boarded the train to Hogwarts, Evangeline had been a crying mess and the boy had felt guilty. There had been none of them with Daisy and there would be none of them with Maxton either.

Despite the fact that, yes, she would be a crying mess once the train had left the station.

"You will love the library, my love." She whispered into her son's hair with a smile, arms wrapping tighter around him. "Don't listen to your sister's taunts. She loves you, really." She did. Sure, Daisy was rough with her brother but Evangeline did not forget all the times she had been called into the nursery because her daughter had pushed some kid who had been messing with her brother. "And dazzle those Hogwarts professors." Oh, here came the group hug. Lifting her head from her son's hair and smiling brightly at her husband and at her eldest daughter, Evangeline extended one arm in their direction. "Both of you! Be as brilliant as you can."

Yes, Mummy.Daisy replied, her voice slightly muffled from being squished into her Dad's arm. She laughed brightly at both her parents - they were silly, really - and ruffled her brother's hair with her free hand. "I'll look after him. And I'll introduce him to all the house elves so they know to give him extra food." She had made friends with most of them - some of them even remembered her Father so they made sure to always keep her well fed! "Tell Alex and Evie I love them and don't let them get bratty! Or touch my broomsticks, please!"Daisy missed Hogwarts, she really did, but she couldn't help but wish that the summer had been longer. Listening to the bustle of the platform, she snuggled closer to her Dad's shirt. Noooot yeettt.
Maxton squeezed hold of his mother even tighter at her little pep talk. He didn’t care if the other kids saw him and laughed. They were just jealous that their mum’s weren’t as great as his was, hmph. Of course he’d miss his Dad too... One thing he certainly wouldn’t miss was his Dad raving on and on about the Falmouth Falcons. Maxton was a Cannons fan and he never heard the end of it.

“I’ll make sure your broomsticks are well kept after and polished,” Clifford replied to Daisy proudly. He was glad at least one of the kids had followed in his Quidditch footsteps. Louis had shown an interest when he was younger, but the subject seemed to bore him now he was older. Clifford could always rely on Daisy to have a game or two in the garden.

“Now c'mon. You guys better get a move on,” He said, planting kisses onto both of them. He was gonna miss these little squirts but if they didn’t say goodbye now he’d end up smuggling the pair of them out of Kings Cross and back home.
