Maybe some experimentation was overdue. "Clifford, you tried to eat one of them. They were simply defending themselves." Honestly, that GnomeGate had happened more than two decades ago and still her husband would not let it go. Not only that, he had used it to scare the kids! So guess who had to de-gnome the garden?
Yup. That's right.
Evangeline turned to her son and wrinkled her nose. Had she been that small when she had first boarded that train? Honestly, she did not thinkg so. "Just don't try to eat any living animal, Maxxie, and you should be fine." Truth be told, if any of her kids was going to eat something they really shouldn't it would definitely be Daisy. The girl had a very unhealthy appetite. As if proving her Mum's point, Daisy magically produced a chocolate frog and began to unwrap it whilst looking suspiciously at Maxton. He was a nerd. Like, a really serious nerd. "Dad?" She whispered sneakily and side-eyeing her brother as she careless bit off the frog's head. "If Maxton doesn't get into Slytherin .... can we disown him?" What?! "I can't remember exactly what book," Maxton answered his sister with a little impatient huff. Honestly, she probably didn't even know what a book was! This would be her 5th year at Hogwarts... had she really not done any research about the place she spent 9 months a year!? He'd spent all summer reading up on Hogwarts and asking his parents about the castle.
He was about to criticize her for her lack of research but instead his attention moved to his parents. They were crazy, the lot of them! His dad had tried to EAT a gnome...? "They look like potatoes!" Clifford said defensively to his wife. He'd never live that one down, would he? He gigglesnorted loudly at his eldest daughter's remark before swiping what was left of her chocolate frog and shoving it in his gob. NOM. "If Maxton doesn't get into Slytherin, send him back home and we'll sign him up to muggle school." Of course, he was just teasing. It didn't matter what house his kids ended up in. He could see Maxton being sorted into Ravenclaw actually. He was a book nerd like his Mother.
