Kitty greeted two of her fellow Ravens, smiling at the rest as she passed them. "Welcome to the Ravenclaw table Dora," she said, smiling thinly at the spirited Gryffindor girl who had strong opinions on journalists and reporters.
And nearby her fellow prefect Rooney was talking about small minds and great minds. Hum! She came up so she was standing right next to him and smiled. "Hi Rooney. That's an interesting idea about minds. Just curious, what do you think my mind is like?" It was a mischievous question, but Kitty was feeling especially bubbly today. Rewind to the beginning of the school year and Rooney had been perplexed at the appointment of his co-prefect, but now he was just perplexed at her. Kitty Valentine was a very perplexing being and Roo had found himself growing fond of her during patrols and their little meetings over the year. She had a good heart and a good view on things, and yet she still asked the questions that made him want to roll his eyes. "Your mind is a place I haven't yet come to understand, Prefect Valentine."
Why wasn't she agreeing that there shouldn't be gossip about pEOPLE at their table though?! Quote:

Or something...
The thing is, Tenacus wasn’t quite aware that Jace = Jacen, or that Jacen = Jason. He just didn’t think that far down unfortunately. He figured Jace intro'd himself as Jace to him and he'd call him that. The Gryffindor Ace was just chill like that.
But whoah wait.... where in Hades Hot Haggis was everybody running off to? Tenacius looked out as Jace got up and left, then followed by Azura. Ok he just knows something's off. Its not his deodorant is it? Sniff sniff, nah he's good, real good. So he just shrugged and carried on with Hadz, because now she's giving them rumors substance "So its that guy? The guy that keeps leaving the classroom? I thought he's always having a bad stomach." Because why else would anyone just get up and leave in the middle of the class after having made the effort to show up in the first place? He thought if they found class boring they could just doze off as he did sometimes
Whoah someone be murmurin? He looked at the Blue Badged one quite surprised-- he hasn’t heard that in a while, like childhood stories thing "My grampa used to say that to my dad a lot." a highly bigoted Muggle, which is why his father never allowed him to meet the old man. But it’s a phrase that knocks around in his Curly head from time to time, weighing its validity "But Prefect-- what about Historians? I mean they talk about people and events most of the time....does that mean they're small average people?" his blue-green gaze caught movement at the Staff Diaz as he saw their HoM Professor "I don’t think Professor Newton is small or even average. I learn a lot from her classes." As Newtons are, they are good at teaching.
And then Kitty came in. Again the Curly Top started to wave hello, but whoops, looks like she missed him again. Ok for someone he was supposed to be good buddies with, it seemed like she was purposely blind to him.
There must be something funky in the Ravenclaw water. The curly haired Gryffindor did have a point, but Rooney wasn't there to be making comments about Professors and knowing what they were teaching, especially given his opinions on some staff past and present. The Ravenclaw shook his head and shrugged. "I just don't think we should be discussing true or false things about other people. Especially in a public place. Continue and I will pass the message on to Professor Hirsch." Again, because he didn't have time to be getting into this or dealing with a Gryffindor when he already had itchy fists. Quote:

First stop, the Prefects. Rooney and Kitty. "Hello, Rooney. Keep up the good work as Prefect, it was nice working alongside you." She remembered when he was much younger and the little play they had put on during a lesson with Zeke and now he was grown up and a Prefect. A good one too. She smiled at him before turning to Kitty. "Keep up the good work, yeah?" Hady offered the girl a hug. One of the students he admired that would be leaving was their lovely Head Girl, not a pinch on the two before her, but Rooney thought that Miss Hady was a delight and had loved being on the responsible students team. "It was lovely working alongside you, Miss Hadleigh. I hope your post-Hogwarts days are as delightful as you are." Yes, he'd miss her. In some element. Quote:

"At least, I don't think so." She'd never heard anything about Daxton suffer stomach issues. But if that's why, it sucks he got expelled for it. "He never spo..."
...And Rooster was there suddenly, calling her a small mind. He was one to talk. Did he practice that speech in the mirror waiting for this chance to use it? It seemed to rehearsed. She rolled her eyes exaggeratedly to Ace. But before Hadley to throw a snarky response back at Rooster, Ace was on top of it. Good ol' Ace.
Oh and Kitty too. Who asked Rooster the most perfect question for this moment. Hads turned just enough to watch Rooster. By all means, Rooney, discuss Kitty to her face. With a smirk, Hadley gave Kitty a wave.
And suddenly she was stealth hugged from behind. The voice that whispered in her ear brought a wide smile to the red haired Ravenclaw's face, which doubled when the words whispered registered fully. Still smiling, Haddie turned and looked up at her name twin, and returned the hug. "Oh, I plan to," she whispered back, throwing a sideways glance at Rooster and the Argonaut, who suddenly reappeared in Haddie's periphery. "I am going to miss you so much next year. Hogwarts won't be the same without you. What's your plan next year?" She broke the hug and looked back over at Ace. "Oh, Hady, you know Tenacius right?" Rooney tutted and skipped over the existence of Hadley Denaker, choosing that he did not need her to drive him more insane than she normally did. No siree. No thank you. Quote:

With a small sigh, the fifth year pushed open the big doors to be greeted by green banners floating in the air. Walking to his own table, Mason sat down somewhere in the middle and looked at his still empty plate for a second. "Hey everyone" he greeted before grabbing the pumpkin juice Rooney smiled at his dorm mate, giving him a pat on the shoulder as he passed him. Mason was probably the easiest to live with out of the few in their room and Rooney appreciated his lack of hullaballoo. "Ready to go home, Mason?" Quote:

*GIGGLE*
Very loud, seemingly from the middle of the table. ... um....................
Rooney looked around, aware enough of the girls of his house that THAT was not a them giggle. What. On. Earth?!
His first assumption was to look straight to the Gryffindor table, because Liv did that high pitched thing when he tickled her.
But no. She was engrossed in conversation.
---
And now he was engrossed in the Headmaster. Rooney slipped into a seat and watched the man as he spoke and announced his nearby departure. Which meant that they would have another person at the helm once more in September. Couldn't Hogwarts just find someone who wanted to lead them for a long time? They'd had Professors here longer than their Headmaster, and Rooney hadn't even had time to converse with him about his cat-identity. How was this FAIR?!
Ugh. The Prefect let out a loud sigh and rose to stand once more. THIS WAS IT. HE WAS REVOLTING.
And everything was honestly just going to go up in disarray now.
Reaching under the table, Rooney pulled out the large balloons he had blown up and stored under there this morning. Ready, ready, ready! He took his wand to the batch of them and levitated them up towards the ceiling of the Great Hall. The green banners were just being joined by a WHOLE bunch of brightly coloured balloons, stuffed with pink somethings or other. Ooooooh what could it BE?
As soon as they were at the perfect height, Rooney popped each and every one of them with a firecracker spell. POP!
POP!
POP!!!!
And down upon the tables scattered pink confetti, all adorned in handwritten love notes to his ONE AND ONLY LOVE, OLIVIA LYNN PHILLIPS. Many were just their initials in hearts, others had lovely quotes from characters that reminded him of the Gryffindor and others were completely laden is SICKLY love messages.
MAKE IT POP LIKE PINK CONFETTI.
MAKE IT RAIIIIIIIIIIIN.
