Gaston listened closely as Miss Snow explained her reasoning. It was certainly an interesting idea for a spell she had - and useful too! At least it would be if she could get it to work, that is... But it also sounded dangerous. Any number of things could go wrong! She could fall off her section of wood, the spell could backfire or have some other unintended effect. It was just too unpredictable to risk!

"I think you're on the right track," he said with an approving nod. "It's a very creative idea you have, but..." His eyes darkened slightly. "...I'm afraid I can't let you use that spell on yourself." He hated having to squash the girl's hopes, but he couldn't have her getting hurt. Then an idea suddenly occurred to him. "I insist you practice on me instead."

"About the wand movement..." he offered the girl a small piece of advise, "After the upward swish, point your wand in the direction you want the wood to move, and to put it back, a downward swish should do nicely." He stood in front of the desk, giving a nod to signal he was ready for Miss Snow to try her spell. He hoped there wouldn't be any adverse reactions (or if there were that they at least didn't involve fire!) but if there were, better they happened to him instead of his student.

OOC: You still have ABOUT 15 HOURS to finish!
