It was good that Gaston wasn't ignoring her because part of Rosalyn had been worried that he would have. That, or head straight for the exit in order to escape. She knew that he had been avoiding her because she hadn't seen him around the castle in quite a few days, not even in passing. Maybe she had been avoiding him too at first, but that was only because he had shocked her with what he had said at the reception. Then she had wondered if he would avoid her for the rest of the time at school and that made her sad because she missed talking to him.
The sunglasses were rather surprising, but she was not going to draw attention to them. Nope. She was too worried about him to really care about that! He was obviously very sad - which made her feel WORSE - but Rosalyn didn't understand why because she hadn't even said anything to him.
