Rhibear ~ Madam Solo ~ Dark Brooding Girl ~ Accio Jedi ~ Gryffinclaw ~ Just a doll

Gaston hadn't planned to leave his office today, but he thought he'd been cooped up inside for too long. Well, that and the thought of running into her somewhere in the castle was too much!

The charms professor ducked into Scrivenshaft's, more to get off the street than anything else, keeping his dark sunglasses on inside the shop to hide his sad red-rimmed eyes from whoever happened to be there. Thankfully the place wasn't overrun with people... yet. He scoffed to himself. He knew he must look ridiculous wearing these things indoors, but it was better than the alternative. He was in no mood to explain his broken heart to anyone right now!

While he was in here, he thought it would probably be a good idea to get a new journal. The one in his jacket pocket was battered and had only a few blank pages left. He just wanted to quickly find a black journal, pay, and leave with as little interaction as possible. But that didn't happen.

As he was searching through the shelves, something brushed against his leg. He looked down and saw a cat. "Hello, pretty kitty," he whispered, bending down to scratch the cat's ear. A loud MEOW caused Gaston's head to jerk up, just as another cat hopped onto the shelf in front of him. Clearly someone wanted his attention! While he was petting the noisy cat, yet another one appeared and started licking his other hand. If he didn't know better, he'd think these animals could sense his sadness and were trying to distract him!

He kept searching through the journals on the shelf - or as much as the cats would allow him to do so - but there wasn't a black one in sight. Great, that meant he'd have to ask. "Excuse me, Madame Shopkeeper?" he said, turning toward the woman. "Would you happen to have one of these -" He picked up a journal in a different color to show her what he was talking about. "- in black? I don't see any out." Though given his current state of mind it was entirely possible he'd been looking right at the merchandise he wanted this whole time and hadn't noticed...
