How easy it was for everyone else to have a thought and simply express it. For Daxton to do that, he had to write - which got extremely tedious, extremely fast - or the other person had to know how to sign.
Instead, Daxton's remarks and sarcastic comments were kept to himself, perhaps inadvertently protecting him from an outburst that might result in serious trouble. If Daxton could speak as freely as he sometimes wanted to, his words would certainly get him into no small amount of bother.
Needless to say, he completely ignored the remark about having someone to talk to. Aside from not wanting to share anything, he did not need anyone's help.
But the matter of fighting, well... that was worth his attention. Daxton found the matter quite amusing, though his amusement could not quite translate to his expression, other than through a slight glint in his eye. He had managed to get away with a fair few misdemeanours, hadn't he? Daxton had been wondering how long it would take for them to notice.
Resorting back to the notebook again - because he had no other option in this situation - Daxton provided Hirsch with his explanation, writing the answer much faster than before, but just as neat as ever. He held it up again. 'I like to fight.'
Well, that was the simplified answer - and very simplified it was, too. The one that was least likely to reveal too much about Daxton; he was always very careful in what he agreed, always keeping valuable information to himself, revealing what was necessary whenever it would benefit him most. Daxton knew how to play this game.
It wasn't probably a good thing that Daxton was keeping any sarcastic answers to himself because, yes, that really would've gotten him into a lot of trouble, even if he was talking to a man who secretly loved sassy answers. Just ask Dante Barrington.
Right now, Hirsch was starting to feel quite a bit frustrated. He kept glancing down at Daxton and the notebook on his lap, as if he was searching for the first sign which told him that he was going to get an answer. But no. Nothing. Instead, the boy just looking at him, as if the words had gone through one ear and out the other. It was starting to feel too much like he was talking to a brick wall and the man didn't like that.
So, he took a raised his eyebrows at the boy and decided to continue onwards, hoping that he was actually listening along. "If you have any student you're close to, try and talk to them about any issues you may be having. You might find that it helps you more than not." A good friend, mind you. [B]"If not, consider the therapy. Only any life-threatening issues will get back to me so everything is confidential."[/B
What was that? An answer? Finally. At least it told him that he wasn't just talking to himself here. And what was more, this answer was probably the most useful answer he had gotten so far. It told him everything he needed to know about the Ravenclaw's reflex technique, something that was very important in terms of defence.
He liked to fight? Huh. "I have some punching bags in the Training Area if you wanted to vent out your feelings by fighting. Or the dummies, even." They could be replaced but human beings? Not so much. "But I can't let this behaviour continue. You need to find a good outlet for your fighting instinct and not let it out on other people. As stupid and unrealistic as this sounds, Hogwarts is meant to be a safe place and while there are times when it's not," Something he wasn't really pleased about. "You picking fights isn't helping. Do that in the real world and you might find yourself facing someone you'll regret crossing and then you'll be in much deeper trouble than you are right now."
Pause. "Consider this your very last warning. I do not want to hear that you've gotten into another fight or have done much worse otherwise the consequences will be severe." He fixed Daxton with a look to show that he wasn't joking either. "Take these few weeks to take a breather, if you need to. And try to put in some more effort into your schoolwork." Who knows, it could give him the distraction he needs. "If you don't want to discuss anything else, you may go." Text Cut: Zeeeeke Quote:

Unfortunately for him, Hirsch's voice indicated that it wouldn't be the case and that he'd have to gain his own entrance - though the temptation to keep knocking was strong. Freeing up a couple of fingers, Zeke fit the door knob into his palm and used whatever traction he could get to swing the door away from him. It wasn't a smooth effort, but it worked and the bacon was still in his buns! #winning "Food for your thoughts, Sir?" he asked tentatively as he closed the door behind him. Only after that did he realise that Hirsch wasn't exactly dressed for breakfast. "Or should I come back another time?"
It wasn't the question that made him look up - though it did help - it was the smell. Bacon. Even though he wasn't exactly hungry, the smell was enough to get him salivating. Sausages were his go-to breakfast option but bacon wasn't a bad choice either. Maybe a breakfast roll wouldn't be a bad idea. One with extra sausages on the side to suit his appetite.
...........
What were they talking about again?
Right. Food. Thoughts. Zeke was here.
The man wasn't meant to have favourites and he tried his hardest not to let it show but Zeke was most definitely one of his. "No, no, you're fine," he said, moving to take off his boxing gloves, "This," The one boxing glove he'd managed to take off was currently being waved a bit. "Can surely wait."
When both of them were off, he set them down on his table and moved to sit down, gesturing for Zeke to do the same. Sit and enjoy that breakfast roll, kid nearly-an-adult. "So why have you come here making me hungry?" he asked, giving the Gryffindor a playful smile, "And what's in that bun apart from bacon?"
