The next question - regarding having someone to talk to - was met with another shake of the head, but much more vehemently this time. He knew exactly what Hirsch was talking about, because Daxton's mother had mentioned something similar to him before. They wanted him to see a doctor, a healer, because they thought him unhinged, unbalanced, probably. Well, Daxton knew what all those medical people were about, and he was having none of it. He had not set foot near a doctor or healer since he was seven years old, and it was going to stay that way. He clenched his fists, and kept his jaw set.

Then... really? The second the matter of his schooling was brought up, he immediately relaxed again and rolled his eyes in exasperation. What did Daxton care about his schooling? Exams were a waste of time, and no real measure of knowledge, and he was firm in the belief that he did not need to spend valuable time and energy in attending his classes to hear about things he could learn from books - nor did he want to, as a matter of fact. He had no intentions at all of even attending his exams, at this point.

That word, 'potential'; it had haunted Daxton for years. The problem with it was that everyone thought that they had the correct idea when it came to how well he could be doing, and it was always to do with school or exams. Daxton knew that he could go perfectly far - even without all that government approved nonsense - just as he knew that none of it mattered to him. It just did not matter to him. It was nothing.

But... oh? That was interesting.

The mention of fights drew Daxton's attention back, whereas before it had been starting to waver, which with the whole 'school is important' lecture. Hirsch... knew about some fights, then.

Well... Daxton could provide information there, but there was one very small problem in that... he had been in so many fights, that it was impossible to tell just which ones Hirsch was referring to. Daxton considered the matter for a moment, thinking back to every single fight he could remember - which was, of course, practically all of them. But which ones would Hirsch have heard about? Perhaps the ones back home, if Daxton's mother had been reporting back to him... but then why would that be relevant here? Or perhaps Hirsch was just fishing for information, for Daxton to tell him something that was not already known by him. An educated guess.

This was some sort of mind game.

So, naturally, Daxton played along. In moments he had written a new message in his notebook, and was showing it to Hirsch again.

'I have not been in any fights.'

Picture of innocence, over here.

If he was completely honest with himself, Hirsch was a little confused with the shaking of the head. Sure, he didn't expect Daxton to speak but this answer didn't really help to clear things up, either. He expected some kind of explanation, even just a few words saying why he thought his mother wasn't his mother but all he got was a shaking of the head.

Yeah. Confused.

"Well, she's brought you up and has been caring for you for all these years." Which, thinking about it, didn't sound like a solid argument. In fact, given how little he knew of Daxton's family, he had no solid argument against the boy's case. "You don't want any therapist help either?" It was less of a question and more of a statement of clarification. Because his statement had been met with yet another shaking of the head and that, if possible, had confused him more than the first action had. "Is there anyone you would like to talk to instead? Student or otherwise?" Did he have any....... friends?

The relaxed pose and the rolling of the eyes hadn't gone unnoticed. In fact, they were two gestures that caused the man to raise his eyebrows slightly, feeling more and more put-off with this conversation. Why was he putting in this much effort if the boy clearly didn't want any? And why did he still care? Because right now, it felt awfully one-sided, as if he was the one trying over here, and he did not like that. Besides, what he was saying wasn't false in any way, was it?

The waiting game. That's what was happening while he sought out a reaction from the young Ravenclaw. If he shook his head one more time, Hirsch was not going to be impressed at all. He did know about the fights and had some information on them stored away in Daxton's file but he wanted to hear, or read, it from the boy himself. To see that he could admit to his wrong-doings and maybe, possibly, try to fix his methods. Was that asking for too much?

Apparently so because at that next moment, he got an answer he really wasn't expecting.

The eyebrows rose higher still as he looked at the message and then at Daxton himself. "Well, according to some sources, you've been in a few fights over the years and most of them have gone unnoticed or simply not met with any kind of warning or consequence." As far as he knew. "Can you tell me why you've gotten into so many fights over the years? Do you prefer the fight rather than the flight method?" A genuine question right there because he was curious and he had an alternative to letting out your anger on others.

In fact, it had broken her. Kicked her. Beat her. But she somehow managed to heal, with deep scars, but heal nonetheless.

"I look forward to the challenge." And then to challenge him further... "Lets just hope its challenging enough." Noelle added with a hint of a smirk. She could get away with talking to him like that because they shared the same kind of drive.

Noelle knew the other rooms were available. She often practiced whenever she had the time. She longed for the long hours of practice she was able to do last year before she took on so much.

"Hey professor........... I just want to make sure I am realistic in my endeavors. And I think I am. I think I'm starting out early So by the time I graduate, I'll be on the right path to where I need to be. And yes, sacrifices have to be made for my goals, but I think they are more than do-able. My question is, as a professor... do you think they are unrealistic?"

She wanted a view from a professional.

At her words, Hirsch ended up raising his eyebrows, a highly amused expression on his face. It wasn't the statement, it was the level of sass that came along with it that amused him so much. Oh, how he enjoyed the sassy nature of his students. He didn't expect it too much from the girl so this was a pleasant surprise. "Is that a challenge for me, Noelle?" Dante Barrington would be proud of this.

It was a good thing that they did share the same drive. Sort of in the same way that him and Hadley Denaker did as well. Jokes were made left, right and centre and that was fine.

This was starting to sound like a heavy question, wasn't it? And, if he was completely honest with himself, he wasn't entirely sure how he was meant to answer. Surely, after everything, she wasn't starting to doubt herself? "Unrealistic? No. Not in the slightest, in fact. Yes, you've started this process early but in doing so and in keeping up with it, you've shown how determined and passionate you are about your chosen path." So hers was far from unrealistic. "You've been working exceptionally hard for this path and I'll do my best to see you through to it but I do think you can make it. No doubts about that."

Did that answer her question?
