She didn't bother to write home for a new pretty dress, since her closet was always chock full of something suitable, and here she was.
Ta-da, and all that.
"I'll have a drink, sir, and thank you." It was good to be polite to the help, especially when the help had a lot of POWER to catch a girl and get her in detention.

She twirled around her older cousin before giving her a swift nod of approval.
