"The boy is right Gaston. I believe we both would feel a lot better should you remain seated and allow me to check on you once I'm through here," she replied softly giving both her colleague and Jace a smile. "It will take just a few moments to heal his arm and then I can heal any injuries you acquired from your fall." Then if he wanted to be on his way he would be more then welcome to do so.

Joy once more went to take hold of Jace's injured arm in her hand. Hazel eyes shifting another smile gracing her lips at the sight of another one of her colleagues joining them. "That's quite alright Roderik," she replied softly. Seeing a Head of House visiting one of his own in the hospital so quickly she wasn't at all about to turn the man away. While the three of them spoke the red head went about casting the proper healing charms upon the boys arm. "There you are Jace. It might feel just a bit stiff for a few moments but you shouldn't have any trouble at all now." Healing charms and potions were a lovely thing.

Turning towards Gaston she eyed him for several quiet seconds. "Are you hurt anywhere else other then the busted lip that I can see, you took quite the tumble." He hadn't broken a rib or anything, had he?

Instead, he gave her a small smile and said, "Thank you."

And why was Gaston talking about leaving?! Sure, he knew nothing about Healing but that groan didn't sound like it came from someone who was physically fit. "Are you okay, Gaston? And what happened with the fiasco by the stairs?" Because as useful as the information had been, rumours spread like wildfire and he doubted whether a lot of it was factual.

And he did want to know who to pin the blame on.

And yes, Gaston, you should stay.

He might not have seen the curled toes or the tensing of the shoulders but it was hard not to miss the paling of the boy's complexion. He was going to pin this down to the injury but he couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy by it. Why? He had no idea. "Well, it's good to hear that you're doing okay," he said, his lips twitching up slightly into a bit of a smile, "How does the arm feel?"

Hirsch watched with a concerned look on his face as the Healer went about tending to Jace. He had no idea what it was that she was doing but watched intently nonetheless. It wasn't until she was done that he spoke up and directly to her. "Is there anything else that he needs? Extra rest?"

The young Ravenclaw was used to tending to his own injuries, and would get help discreetly if he needed one badly. This time around, it was very different. It was like his family’s eyes were on him. It did feel good, yes, but the boy could not shake off the embarrassment. The tension however, died down a bit when Jace saw Professor Marchand went back to sit down on the overstuffed armchair. He didn’t look good at all, and his groan sounded way too familiar to the boy. It was the sound of a man suffering an injury. Albeit the professor being in pain, Jace nodded to him and muttered his thanks for staying beside him. Besides, he didn’t want to be left alone with Professor Hirsch...yet. “Arigatou, sensei.” He said bowing his head once to the Charms Professor.

The Ravenclaw drew in another breath, as Professor Marchand took notice of the clay in his hand. Hiding it from Professor Hirsch’s view would be useless, given that Professor Marchand’s attention was on it already. Jace could feel his heartbeat quicken, sparing his Head of House a very quick glance. “Uhm...yes...please. I would appreciate it very much.” Jace then placed his smashed clay golem on the night stand beside his bed.

His attention then shifted when Healer Joy took his injured arm, and began to fix it. He couldn’t feel anything at first, until there was a tingling sensation. He kept his brown eyes on his arm as he watched it straighten up again without feeling any pain. That was it? Healed already? Jace’s face was graced with a tired grin as he looked at Healer Joy. “Arigatou gozaimasu, sensei.” He said inclining his head toward her. Jace began to open and close his hand, while his right hand carefully massaged his mended limb.

The Ravenclaw finally tuned all of his attention to his Head of House, but he couldn’t properly look back at his Defence Professor. Jace saw the smile, but he couldn’t help but feel that the man was just being civil in front of the other two adults in the room. Surely, he will get a word or two from him the moment he steps out of the Hospital Wing. “It...it feels a bit numb professor...” Jace pretty much mumbled to himself, too afraid to show his face to the professor. Why? If news already reached his Head of House, he was sure that the news has reached the Headmaster as well. All this time, the Ravenclaw was very careful not to get involved in such situations. Mustering all the pride that he got, Jace assumed the kneeling position on the bed, both hands on his lap and his head inclined to his Head of House. “I’m sorry I worried you, Professor Hirsch.” The Ravenclaw could feel his disappointment form inside him. He knew he’s no longer a child, and because of his carelessness, he was able to bother such a busy man. Jace stayed in that uncomfortable position, and listened as the adults discussed amongst themselves.

Gaston smiled warmly at the young Ravenclaw, bowing his head in return. He didn't understand a word he said, but based on the look on the boy's face, he could guess that it meant thank you. He glanced at the smashed object on the nightstand. Fixing it seemed the least he could do for Jace. After all, charms were his job... well, that and protecting his students, which so far he'd failed miserably at!

He pointed his wand at... whatever that thing was. It was a good thing his wand arm wasn't on the same side of his body that had collided with the wall! "Re-reparo." The object reassembled itself and now looked like a sall clay creature. Whatever it was, at least it was fixed now.

Gaston's head whipped aroound at the sound of Roderik's voice, spilling his dark hair into his eyes."The poltergeists happened! What else?!" he exclaimed, momentarily forgetting about his injury... until the pain caused by speaking reminded him. "They waxed the staircase... turned it into a slide..." He had to pause for a few moments to catch his breath. Every word was causing him more pain, but he forced himself to go on. "I tried to guard the stairs, stop anyone else from falling..." He cast a guilty look back at Jace. "But Peeves grabbed me and dragged me down the stairs... I tried to fight him off but wasn't strong enough..." He winced slightly, clutching at his right side as his voice trailed off. Merlin's beard, he was useless! It was a miracle no one else had fallen after Peeves overpowered him!

He watched closely as Joy cast the spell to heal Jace's arm, and for the first time since he arrived, it didn't feel like his heart was going a million miles an hour. The boy seemed a bit more relaxed now, which meant he could relax... as much as his injuries would allow. Pained blue eyes met the healer's as she addressed him; he nodded. "I think I must've broken something when I slammed into the wall," he whispered. Or several somethings, if the pain in his side was any indication...

"And there's this..." Gaston glanced back at Jace, his eyes silently begging him to look away. He didn't want to frighten the poor kid with his injury! He undid the top button of his shirt to reveal the ring, once red but now quickly turning bluish-purple, around his neck where Peeves had grabbed him by his tie. His eyes darted nervously around the room. He felt awkward talking about this in front of Jace and Roderik! He didn't want to worry them!
