Anyway. Not her problem. And it was a bit cooler now, so bonus.
"Do you think anyone has given someone one of these to someone for Valentine's, Professor?" Kaycee asked going to fetch herself a pot. It seemed like a relevant question.
Paul shrugged. “Perhaps! What better way to show the person you love that you’re just BURNING with passion for them?!” he held his chest dramatically. “I think it’d be quite the romantic gift, don’t you?”

When he heard the Professor say they were going to be placing these in pots even this Gryffindor had to pause. Because plants are on fire yo. Singed curls are not fun he knows that much ahem.
He went to grab himself a pot and the potting supplies then started to scoop some potting soil in. Oh wait a minute "Professor, do we need to add fertilizer to this soil?" Do fire roses even need fertilizers? Because fire and fertilizers can make quite a bombastic pairing in a manner of speaking....
Paul shook his head at the boy’s question. “Nope, not these bad boys. They survive quite well without any of that stuff...sometimes they grow in the wild, too…” especially given the nature of these flowers..which again, Paul would get to in due time.
SPOILER!!: Paige

It was a mental block, she knew that after the lengthy conversation her and Brian had had - multiple times - on the magic theory behind charms and transfiguration spells, as Aguamenti WAs in fact a charm and Charms was one of her best subjects. Even so....
Biting her lip as she listened to instructions and jotted down a few addition notes to her parchment, Paige slipped out of her seat to grab her materials and made a very pointed stop in front of Professor Myers before getting down to work.
"Um...professor?" she asked softly while shyly turning the pot in her hands. "Would...um...administering a Flame-Freezing Charm but suitable as well? In place of..um...Aguamenti?" Her eyes were looking down at her shoes as she spoke, not meaning any disrespect just...quite nervous about administering a spell that she could be quite hit and miss with. Particularly when working with such rare and delicate plant as these....on top of extinguishing something so vital to their existence.
He turned to Paige as she spoke, raising a quizzical eyebrow in her general direction.
“I suppose, yes? The water does not hurt the flowers, though, just a general FYI!” he said loud enough for all to hear.
“But that would work…” he supposed it was probably some Herbologists’ choice to use that over aguamenti...but the way Paul saw it, they needed water anyways. It saved an extra step in there.

All right. Here she went. She carefully took a hold of the stem, right under the bloom, making sure that she wasn't damaging any of the leaves as she gently tugged the plant upwards..
She could feel the roots loosen a bit and she gently siphoned some of the dirt from the roots of the fire roses into the pot..
Okay, now! Azura tugged upwards again and she carefully pushed her fingers into the soil to cup the roots of the plant in her hands.. She was using all of her concentration in order to be extra gentle! The last thing she wanted to do was harm the flower!
She gently tugged and finally got the plant free!
Yay!!
She transferred it into the new pot and was carefully filling it with dirt when Ack!! It burst into flame again! Whew! She was glad it hadn't done that sooner!
"Aguamenti!" She said as she pointed her wand at the plant and carefully wetted it down again.. "Finite. " She said as she stopped the water.. before a question came to her mind..
"Professor Meyers?"" Azura leaned back on her heels and turned her dirt smudged face forwards him.. "Do these plants need water? Or is there another way to feed them? I was just curious seeing as water puts fire out. "
“Well, they need water….and as of right now, they intake it when we water them...putting their flames out doesn’t harm them in any way, though?” he thought he’d repeat it, just for reiteration.
“But so far...yes, they need water.” Especially with their flames burning up a lot of energy--it probably helped that their flames only came out in the summer, when they could soak up all the Vitamin D that they wanted!
“If anyone has anymore questions, do not hesitate to ask!” He smiled and nodded, making his way to the back to grab himself a pot so he could get his hands on one of the Fire Roses, too!
OOC: Moving on at some point later today! <3
