He'd been avoiding classes, he'd been avoiding most things and people lately actually. He couldn't count the owls he had from his girlfriend and his father trying to reach out to him, but he didn't want to talk about it, he didn't want to be comforted... He just wanted to be left alone for once... or maybe not, or else he wouldn't be coming down to the common room where more than likely someone might see him upset and want to know what was wrong.
The fifth year sank onto one of the couches and pulled his knees against his chest and sighed. She was gone... He hadn't seen her since she'd thrown him on a train and now she was gone... It wasn't right, he couldn't believe a perfectly healthy woman could just be gone... It didn't make sense and sitting there thinking and trying to piece it together wasn't doing anything but making his confusion worse. His mother was gone. Dead... and he couldn't get a solid answer on why she was gone or what took her away.
It just didn't make sense. |
