Hogwarts RPG Name: Tenacius "Ace" Salander Graduated x12 x12
| *catching up* x3 >_< Ability is nothing without Opportunity | | Creativity is Intelligence having FUN With that kind of enthusiasm for the AWESOME Han Solo, Tenacius didnt care if the lady spectre wasnt a sc-fi fan-- she knew who Han Solo was and that all that matters! Thats two thumbs up in his book!
But right, it was all about parallax and light years. Light years! He knows what those are! But then it was time to move to the windows and off he goes, with his telescope and his book and looking for the 61 Ursae Majoris..... whats so important about it? He wouldnt know, because he was too busy trying to find where in the sky it was. Stargazing noob? No, he knew how to work a telescope-- he has his own out on the deck back home-- thing is, often it wasnt pointed at the sky. Ahem. Boys will be boys eh?
Oh so this star thing was as old as Professor Hirsch?? Well whaddya know, theres a star out there that is practically a Hirsch-y twin. And much to his own delight-- they get to look for stars that have the same age as they do. Cool! So whats his star twinsies?....
........ ok apparently stars arent a big thing around the time he was born, astronomical ones anyway. Because he really had to go through the list of looking for one that was about 13-14 light-years old, because he was 13 going on 14. Seems like there were more stars around his dad's age. How typical.....
--But oh! He finally found a set of stars around his-- red dwarf stars. Ok not the most exciting, if anything its the most common, and for a hot pumpin ball of fiery gas, its relatively cool-ish.
But hey he has a star twin thingy and he's pretty happy with that. SPOILER!!: notes
Star: Wolf 1061
Distance: 13.87 light years
Location: Ophiuchus constellation
Points of interest: - Has three planets orbiting around it, one of the planets, Wolf 1061 c, is is very Earth-like in its potential to support Magical kind. (and yeah Muggles too)
- the Ophiuchus constellation got its name from the Greek word for serpent-bearer (and my Dad was a Slytherin, so I think this is significant)
- Ophiuchus is also called the 13th zodiac, but Astronomers like Professor Flamsteed and Astrologers like Professor Vance are forever arguing about things like this.
- A guy named Wolf discovered this star. My dad's patronus is a wolf. Thats just awesome!
- A Red Dwarf is also the name of a space ship from a old Muggle tv comedy.
