She would definitely be needing the use of it during the lesson...which was beginning now and the seventh year was just...going to hold on to her quill, tickle her nose every now and then, and try to keep up with note taking as best she could.
Quill moving furiously over the parchment, trying to write word for word what Professor Burbage was saying about Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel - including writing the word 'studmuffin' more times than she would realize until she went over her notes back in her dorm later that evening - because she hadn't a clue who he was based on portrait alone. Not offer up any additional information on the man. Well, not unless she became a true master of multitasking and were able to take notes AND flip through the pages of her textbook at the same time. She had literally just finished with notes and was turning towards the page about Bessel when ANOTHER question was being asked.
Again...not a clue...which was why she sheepishly began reading over the page on this particular astronomer and cross referencing her notes. ...to the discovery of Neptune in 1846 at Berlin Observatory....after Bessel's death...
Something about the fact the Brian of all people had brought up Neptune's discovery within this context struck a cord with her. At least there was a small distraction with this thumb business...which actually made the concept make a bit more sense to the Hufflepuff. But only just a bit.
And it was back to notes with the next question as well. Although she DID know what a light year was at least! That brought a faint smile to her features...even if it apparently was not the correct response. Why weren't astronomy terms as easy to remember as binomial names in Herbology?
