Rula turned and spotted Professor Myers there. "Thanks, Professor," she said as he stepped in to take a swing at it. Fortunately, by now, she was over the whole pumpkin competition from his lesson earlier, so she wasn't too bothered by him joining her. Though...he only tapped the piņata?
"You could be as good if you hit it harder," she replied with a grin. "You need to swing at it like you mean it! Like it did something really mean to you, and you're getting back at it. Or like you're in the middle of the most important Quidditch game of the season and it's a bludger heading RIGHT for your Seeker while they're chasing the Snitch and you need to protect them or you will LOSE!" And she swung her bat and gave the piņata a good WHACK to emphasize her point.
