Maybe Nat was taking it easy on the pinata or something, because she hadn't made even a real dent in it. Or maybe these were magically indestructible pinatas, designed to make everyone cry.

"I'm going to get us all sorts of magic treats, Miss Nat. Just wait and see." She took up a proper stance, a bit like she was wielding a polo mallet, and waited until she heard the creaking of the rope swing past. Once. Twice. She swung HARD and connected with... something.

Hopefully not a person.
