catch up! worked on the weekend! lives in a hobbit hole || Ern and Touz's Nuzzle || roflysst || looking at a seed packet Well Char DID talk a lot so she wouldn't mind being a test subject to see what might happen if you gave someone like her a babbling potion. She might've told the professor exactly that but she got distracted. She cleaned her cauldron and filled it with the 500 mls of water measured carefully, along with the ailhotsy leaves and then started looking around the room to see what everyone else was up to and if there was anything interesting (aka distracting) going on. And then she got distracted from her distractions because of PIXIES so naturally forgetting about the ailhotsy leaves doing their thing on the burner, Charlotte whipped her wand out and immobilized as many as she could! And THEN she couldn't find her notes about the potion.... and then she realised that she HADN'T ACTUALLY copied them down so there were no notes to find. The Gryffindor hurriedly copied them down (PROBABLY accurate?!) and then went ahead and gathered the rest of the ingredients listed.
Um.... had it been 20 minutes? Probably! She fished out the leaves with a spoon (mostly!) and tossed in two dried billywig stings and a generous pinch (what was a pinch anyways?) of erumpent tongue (gross), and then sort of daydreamed while stirring anti-clockwise at a mostly consistent rate. Mostly. HONESTLY she had more important things to think about than whether or not ten minutes had past, things filled her head up HEAPS at the moment actually. But it looked like maybe approximately about ten minutes according to the clock. Probably. She took it off the heat and waited for it to cool down.
Once it was room temperature (ish?) 5 mls of armadillo bile went in there and she stirred the contents 5 times anti-clockwise, followed by two drippy drops of leech juice and 20 more stirs the same way.
....
..... Well she SUPPOSED that was light brown? Maybe? ISh. Close enough anyways!
But GOSH this potion was taking a long time. It was so hard not to get bored and give up. Char yawned and stretched and tried to focus. Boiling. Again. She'd at least get to do a spell next! That made it a bit better. What was it? garrula lingua? And more of this anti-clockwise stuff too. Like undoing. Like undoing a tongue? Teehee. She moved her wand. "Garrula lingua!" That part was the easiest and the best for sure. OH WAIT YEAH sIMMERING NOW. She turned the heat down and checked her instructions again. Measuring in (approximately) a tablespoon of (basically) leveled charcoal. Three Slooooooooooow anti-clockwise stirs. A pinch of ground bezoar. One little stir and... REMOVE. She took it from the heat again and watched.
..... brown.... brown..... mustard.... yellow.... FLURO! Heyyy the colour was right! Char gleefully went to pull her stirrer out of the cauldron and it made a gluggy sucking noise as it came out, the potion was the consistency of custard.
Erm.
Well, the colour was right? It should still be good, yeah? She went ahead and bottled it, noting that you couldn't tell it was gluggy once it was IN the vials. Sooo that was okay! She labeled one for the professor too.
And...... was she supposed to drink one? Or... you know, eat it?
