Sitting back on his stool, he clasped his hands tightly together, not so patiently waiting for the water to boil. Though in a matter of seconds, he could feel his face begin to lightly heat up and it wasn't due to the warmth of the room. His attention turned to Paige as she turned down the flame underneath his cauldron. "Oh... right," he nodded, fidgeting slightly. Even boiling water wasn't as easy as it seemed.

After almost five years of potions, you'd think he'd have this down by now.

Alas, even with the reduced flame under his cauldron, the alihotsy leaf infused water began to boil. He glanced towards the older Hufflepuff's work station with a hint of a smile before setting onto the next task. Leaning forward, he added in two dried billywig stings and a pinch (?) of powdered erumpent tongue... Guys, how much was a pinch?

Using his stirrer to stir the contents clockwise, he was two stirs in before he stopped, eyes on the blackboard. Counter-clockwise. A quick adjustment later, he began stirring into a counter-clockwise motion. For ten minutes. TEN minutes of stirring. He could feel his hair beginning to stick to his forehead from a mixture of nervous sweaty concentration and the steam from the potion itself.

Again, with the lack of timing himself properly, he just continued onto the next steps of the potion by sheer observation of what everyone else was doing. Using his already measured out armadillo bile, he added it into the mixture, stirring another five times counter-clockwise, yet uncertain about whether the stirring had to happen at the same time he added the bile or not. Two drops of leech juice went into the cauldron afterward, stirring hand not stopping as it continued on for another twenty counter-clockwise turns, awaiting that light brown in color or SOMETHING of that nature to take effect.

This was not light brown at all.

And what did it mean bring BACK to a boil? When was it not boiling??
