It didn't take long for the water to simmer up and that made Hattie happy. She hated waiting around. She really was not a patient person at all. Looking back over at her notes, Hattie ticked the first instruction, before moving onto the next one. Carefully she added her alihotsy leaves into the potion. Now to stew them for 30 minutes. She left the heat as it was, as her potion was simmering away quite nicely.
Hattie had learnt from last year, and had made sure she'd brought a timer with her. She carefully set it to twenty minutes, and place it on her desk. There would be no losing track of time this year! She was determined to improve her time keeping in relation to making her potions. Whilst her potion was simmering and brewing, she used the time to prepare her other ingredients, making sure that they were all ready to be used. This would be useful, because then she wouldn't need to prepare them when she was doing the rest of the brewing
Before she knew it her time was dinging! It had been twenty minutes already.
"Wow... time goes fast" Hattie murmured, as she looked at the next instruction. Carefully Hattie took all the leaves from her potion, and used her wand to turn the heat up, so that the potion went back up to a boil. She peered inside again, watching as the potion bubble away. It looked pretty cool. She was happy with it so far.
Following the instructions, she carefully added the billywig stings and erumpent tongue to her potion, and then set the timer again, this time for 10 minutes. Placing it on the desk, she picked up her stirrer and began stirring counter-clockwise. She really needed to learn how to get the stirrer to this by itself, because she was about to get a achy arm.
Hopefully this 10 minutes would go fast.
