She paused for just a moment. "Now I'm not going to ask you to write down all the methods of divination we just gone over/talked about since you can all find that in your textbooks."
Lifting up the basket off eggs that Nimma had so graciously dropped off she continued "For the remainder of the lesson we are going to be focusing/practicing the method known as Ovomancy/Oomancy. Ooomancy is diving with eggs where you drop the egg white into hot water and interpret meaning to the shapes the egg whites form when they hit the water." "But before we do that I've got plenty of eggs, breads and tea water in my kettle, and tea bags if you all would like to come up and make yourself an afternoon snack. You can of course help yourself to the tea cups, plates, butter and such found in the many wall cupboards."
Remembering something she had forgotten Laurel hastily added. "I'd like you all to think on while we snack. What other divination methods are similar to Ovomancy or can be combined with Ovomancy?" OOC: Snack time! As Laurel said make your character a snack by helping themselves to tea and maybe if they like an egg sandwich while they answer/think on the answer to the next question. I'll move on in 48 hours or so since i'm closing at work tomorrow. No post limit. Have fun, converse some with each other and snack but don't forget to answer the question too. Wait... they were supposed to cook some eggs? Uhh. Char was okay with not cooking eggs. Like... couldn't the house elf do that part for them? Why did they have to cook eggs and make sandwiches themselves?
And her attention span wasn't so great so she didn't quuuuiiite get to answering the question. Quote:

Which just so happened to be on a certain Gryffindor revealing that her mother was a Seer...and a unique one at that. Paige couldn't help but feel her heart flutter like a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis for the first time. It was nothing personal against Professor Vance, of course, but the Hufflepuff's time here at Hogwarts was limited...and the thought of perhaps...perhaps having someone to speak to about acute seer abilities was, well, hopefully didn't even begin to describe the feeling.
So Paige was not-so-casually STARING at Charlotte with wide owlet eyes. Was she being too obvious? She always had, and would, wear her emotions on her sleeve.
And she was actually still staring when the professor moved things along, confirming her suspicions about which method they would be using today and really only caught the end of what was being asked. The rest she had to fill in the blanks by observing what her classmates were doing....which was making a snack apparently. Having had a late lunch, the Hufflepuff wasn't terribly hungry but she would never turn down a cup of tea and thus got out of her seat to collect that along with the needed supplies to perform Oomancy - thanking the house elf as she did, of course.
Back in her seat, and trying not to stare too much at the back of Charlotte's head, Paige found a little spark of confidence to respond to Professor Vance's inquiry. "It can be combined with tasseoggraphy," she repeated, echoing her own thoughts and the very words the woman had spoken to her only a few minutes prior.
Perhaps why there was tea involved in the lesson as well? Although they had been provided tea bags and not leaves so perhaps not.
Unable to resist, Paige scooted herself around her table while her tea bag steeped in its hot water to bring herself closer to Charlotte and leaned over a bit so she could tap the younger girl on the shoulder.
"I didn't know your mom was a seer," she whispered, tone so clearly laced with curiosity she may as well have been shouting. "Do you...would you mind ...um...my asking you some questions some time?" ... which was why she was so easily distracted when she was tapped on the shoulder. She turned and looked at the older girl and nodded. "Oh, sure. She's registered and everything." She paused. "It gets annoying sometimes. I can't always tell if she knows things or if she KNOWS things, you know?" It made it harder to get away with stuff!
Questions? What kind of questions? Charlotte nodded again and smiled cheerfully. "Sure you can!"
