But that first one looked like Alihotsy leaves to him, and that next one he was pretty sure were Billywig stings. One of those liquids looked like bile-- just what kind of bile he didnt know, and the other fluid he wasnt sure of at all just going by its color. Some kind of extract? The activated charcoal was easy to tell given its appearance and that the Professor mentioned it, which makes the other thing the crushed Bezoar. There was still that pile of powdery crushed thing that the Curly Top couldnt identify. Crushed things were nearly impossible to tell without labels. All hail the label maker!
But the original solution was light brown in color the Potions Master says... and that was the clue the Gryffindor Ace was running with in addition to the possible Alihotsy, definitely Billywig and that bile-looking thing. Flick flick flick flick he goes through his textbook-- oh is that it? "Babbling Beverage Professor?" it got 3 of the ingredients he's identified. Certainly it wasnt something he's made before, although he does remember some of his friends having tried it before....
Now what was the charcoal and bezoar for? He can see from the solution that the Professor held up that what was originally light brown has now turned golden. Hmmmmm up goes the hand "Professor, Bezoars are known to be anti-poisoning agents, and activated charcoal is reputed to absorb toxins when ingested." at least thats what his grandma would spout endlessly when she sprinkles that black powder on everything "So you included them because uh..... to lessen the toxicity or the intensity of some of the ingredients?" |
