Hey Matt! :3 Jedi Master•General Iroh•Java Junkie• King ♛ Stefan •Mycroft Holmes•Dragon Lord•Druid Boy
He always felt at home whenever Professor Newton greets back in his mother tongue. The pronunciation might be a liiittle off, but it was understandable and much appreciated by the young Ravenclaw. Jace grinned back at the effort, and inclined his head towards the man. There’s just so much respect for that old man. As for Madame Curie, well, he’d have to work on his fear for rats. Matt’s unmistakable voice was heard all over the classroom, and Jace had to turn in his seat to take a look at him. The thirteen year old gave an amused chuckle and waved at him, pointing to an unclaimed seat next to his workstation. Once everything was settled, Jace’s focus turned to the old man up front, sparing Madam Curie a glance with her cheese, and went on to look at the ingredients. Nodding his head in agreement, Jace got his parchment out and wrote down the name of the potion, and its ingredients.
Jace paused to look up at the two added elements and allowed the gear in his head to turn. Activated charcoal is activated carbon right? They have one of those in Japan...and his grandmother would often give it to his grandpa to reduce his flatulence. One can tell that his grandma isn’t a happy old lady when it comes to gassy business. Bezoar on the other hand is the common antidote to poisoning. So, what exactly is its use in the Babbling Beverage? The Ravenclaw sat back, and tapped his chin with his quill trying to connect the two.
Hmm. “Is it to make the Babbling Beverage more potent, professor?” he said putting his hand up to answer. “Activated charcoal is used to purify water in the muggle community...and the Bezoar is used as a powerful antidote to most poisons as it clears the person from deadly toxins. So...is it in a way to help restore the original ingredients’ freshness, purity and effectiveness?” Jace could feel his ears turn pink after answering. He wasn’t sure of his theory and was more curious if he at least made sense?
