"My reaction had been instinctively, it's something you can't hide" unless one had a lot of training and he hadn't had that. Merlin's beard he was a teenager not an Auror. "Your prank however had been done deliberately and you were fully aware of what you were doing, apologise"
But just as he told her to apologise yet again he felt a tuck on the rope he had made to keep her from drowning and he stumbled forward a step. Not falling in to the water though, Mason kept the magical rope in tact so that she could use it as a guide line to swim to land. He was helping her even if he didn't want to admit it and he was sure that she wouldn't want to admit that either so they were going to be even with that.
"I think you can stand up now" he said as the girl got closer. "And BURN that mask, please" he was serious about that.
All the talk about instinctively responding was crap! There was really NO excuse for him to pull her with him into the water! It was just absurd and there was no excuse for! It wasn’t her fault that he responded like a scared five year old little girl!
“I cannot hear you with the mask covering my face” she yelled, pretending that she didn’t had heard a word for what he had said, just because she refused to listen to his nonsense! Apologize! Ha! She made a snoring sound and still pretended that she wasn’t understanding him and ignored his words completely! Apologizing! Bah, who did he thought that he was that SHE would apologize?
Sadly the boy wasn’t falling again into the water while she pulled herself toward him, oh, she would have liked that just to satisfy herself because he had demanded a apologize for something what wasn’t completely her fault! But on the other hand, she was happy THAT he didn’t fell because he was holding the robe and without it she would have found it more difficult to get back on dry land.
Ah, as soon as she felt ground under her feet she tried to remove the mask from her face and she cursed loudly while her hair was still stuck with the elastic band from the mask. Very carefully she removed every hair before pulling the mask away because well, she wasn’t going to ruin her hair because of Mason and because HE was so stupid to pull her with him into the water!
Taking a deep breath she was happy that the mask was away from her face and she looked for the first time since she had fallen into the water at Mason and saw to her satisfaction that he wasn’t looking much better than she herself! But whaaaat did he just say to her? Of course she liked to burn something, no, liking wasn’t the right word, she LOVED it but… She wasn’t going to take orders from him! Absolutely NOT! So she folded her arms and looked with one eyebrow raised up at him.
“Who do you think that you are to give ME a order to do something? You’re older than I am but not my boss” she said irritated.
With her mask in her hand she showed it to the boy just to hope to see some fear in his eyes, yes, he deserved that for everything HE had done to HER today!
“And besides, why should I try to burn it? I never have used such a spell, I only have read about it, so you just are trying to get me into trouble aren’t you? Are you hoping that I’m going to burn the school, just to have you revenge?” She asked suspicious.
