Nah, just kidding. He was simply testing himself to see how long he could stand still in that position. Not moving was CHALLENGING and Matt usually struggled with it. So he was TESTING himself. Building STRENGTH, you know.

OHEY, A FRIEND! Good, he wouldn't have to stay there all statue-like without even TALKING. That would probably drive Matt crazy. Learn things faster? "Good point. Probably! Lachlan here looks like the clever type, don't he?? AND he's got a book." All the logic! Matt stifled a chuckle. "You don't need to learn things any faster, Jace, you're a RAVENCLAW. I heard you guys were BORN knowing everything." Hehehehehe!
