"So it sounds like the after-feast party is the norm, then?" He just wanted to know what to expect for once. "I hope you're right about feeling like things are normal soon. I want to feel at home here." Mostly because it would prevent him from being super homesick. He did NOT want people to think he was a sissy.
By the time they got to the face paint table, he had popped the small cookie the tippins had given him into his mouth. As Hads spoke, his face grew bright red. He was deeply glad that it was dark. "Oh um.. yeah.. an eagle would be good, then.." he mumbled. To cover his embarrassment, he pretended to turn and look for the giant statue she had mentioned. Though he couldn't see it, he pretended to be intrigued by it for a moment. "Well, I think ravens would have been a cool mascot. Mrs. Ravenclaw should have thought about that," he said, regaining his composure. "Alright, I'll sit as still as I can. Have at it!" Quote:

Not very minor but he didn't have to heart to let the ting Ravenclaw down. And she did know that it was an exceptionally advanced spell, didn't she? He didn't expect her to have it down so quickly but the fact that she hadn't given up yet was nice. "You'll get there."
And then came this question.
Uh. The Defence Professor paused. His memory? Awfully private was one way to describe it. The idea of sharing it with his students wasn't something that sat well with him. It wasn't that he didn't trust them but his matters were private and that was that. "One of them is when I got my black belt. I even got a tattoo to show it off." And with that, he lifted the sleeve of his shirt just enough to show her a belt that ran all the way around the bicep and one that had a dragon flying around it.
It wasn't exactly a lie, okay?[/B] "You have more than one memory?" she asked Hirsch, tone was a bit surprised. She didn't even know you could do that. Maybe that was the problem. She was only using one memory. "Huh."
Hads turned back to Finn and pulled out her wand. It's black wood was barely visible in the dark of the room, but the silver and gold eagles inlaid in it shone in the in the glowing light. "Reference," she told him, holding the wand out to show him. Wouldn't do to have the boy think he was about to be hex. "Yep. An after-feast party is pretty normal. Or at least it has been since I've been going here." Which was only three times so far. But y'know what they say. Three times make a pattern. Or something like that. "Don't worry. This place will be a home like that," she snapped her fingers. Hads dipped the paint brush into the paint. "Ready?" Before she had an answer, she put brush to his face, outlining the wings first. They weren't as good as the eagles inlaid into her wand, but it was coming out better than she hoped it would. Hady was the painter, not her. She was the photographer.
Once the outline was done, Hadley filled it in with paint. "Voila!" She stepped back to admire her work. Too bad there wasn't a mirror anywhere nearby. Oh! "Here, let me take your picture so you can see how it looked once I develop it."
