She glanced at the lake. "I'm trying to get kidnapped by mermaids so I don't have to do my homework." Obviously. She wondered if it would work. Then she could be a mermaid for the rest of her life and REALLY ignore life responsibilities.
What a remarkably honest answer that was! Paul laughed quite a bit at that, and whistled for Zelda to come over. The collie, wet, jetted from out of the water and shook off her fur as she approached, dousing the two in...lake water.
"AH--ZELDA!" Paul cried, but he was
laughing. "Merlin!" "What homework are you avoiding? Herbology?" he asked with a small smirk, clearly kidding. If she was avoiding homework, she was probably avoiding ALL homework, including his subject.
"Also, I don't think...the mermaids in this lake would kidnap you. I'm pretty sure they have some sort of agreement with the school. They live here peacefully, after all."
Zelda rolled in the grass, getting her damp fur full of it, before barking at one of them to COME PLEASE RUB HER TUMMY WITH THEIR FOOT? PLEASE?
