June paused her rock throwing when a dog suddenly jumped into the lake. Of all things in the world, June liked cats and dogs the most, so she wasn't going to risk hitting it. Her attention turned when she saw a figure approach out of the corner of her eye. A professor, she knew, but she couldn't remember his name. She didn't care about that kind of stuff.

She glanced at the lake. "I'm trying to get kidnapped by mermaids so I don't have to do my homework." Obviously. She wondered if it would work. Then she could be a mermaid for the rest of her life and REALLY ignore life responsibilities.
