Although now she was stuck in this class and there was no way of running out without alerting the professor and probably getting scolded- and while she didn't mind some scolding, she didn't want it to happen this early in the year. Wait, why was Brooklyn's desk in front of her shaking? She frowned... but also ceased the opportunity, "Brooklyn's desk is shaking! We must alert someone!" She jumped from her seat and posed bravely next to the older girl. This way she could 1) play the hero with the pretty girl 2) escape this lesson 3) have a fun story to tell Sam. Once she’d written down the basic magical uses for the rune on her desk, Brooklyn had gone back to reading. Obviously they weren’t continuing the lesson as of yet, and Professor Sokolov could hardly expect her to just sit there staring off into space while she waited for everyone else to finish identifying the runes on their desks. Besides, she wasn’t bothering anyone just sitting there reading, and if he felt like arguing she’d just come up with some way that runes were connected to Westeros. There had to be something…
Instead, it appeared like someone had felt the need to hex her desk, or at least it had started shaking. She just shifted her chair back slightly and ignored it, even as she’d noticed Hady’s suddenly start acting the same way. It wasn’t bothering her, or she wasn’t going to deal with it. Not until she’d suddenly heard her name being called out and found the Gryffindor girl from the train standing next to her like she thought she’d be able to help. It was just a shaking desk, and it was Hogwarts, but then obviously the girl expected people to react differently.
She’d glanced over as the girl started storming out. The desk had stopped shaking anyhow, and the lesson had finally continued. Galdrs. Meh. The one the professor recited sounded like a chant in gibberish and nothing had even happened to give a reason for said chant. She’d nearly gone back to reading, until a fire suddenly took her notice. A fire that used to be Charlotte Kettleburn’s desk, which at least proved something. Runes weren’t only theory. She still wasn’t about to put in work that wasn’t necessary, but she was interested in how the professor would react to said fire.
