"Next you'll be telling me, that the portraits move and that wizarding people can walk on water." Yeah, this was just very freaky and he wasn't enjoying his experience one bit, he had a feeling his friends wouldn't be having this problem at secondary school.
Hady could hear the boy clear as he rambled on and on about how staircases couldn't move. Poor kid thought someone was playing a trick on him. A part of her wanted to laugh but another part of her, the more mature Hady part wanted to give the small boy a hug. Clearly he was muggleborn and from the looks of it he hadn't read his textbooks over the summer either.
The moment the staircase came close enough the seventh year girl jumped onto it without much thought. Gripping the railing she made her way down to where the boy was clinging onto it as if his little life depended on it.
"Hey, calm down, it's okay. Lets have a seat and I'll explain?" she coaxed softly sitting on the step above him and lightly resting a soothing hand on his shoulder.
"My names Hady, what's yours?" Best to try to distract him a little bit. Calm him down and then answer all his questions. Which she did plan on doing!
