But she probably ought to at least attend the feast instead of skipping. It was tradition and important and whatever.
Once she'd finally made it to the table and sat down, she stared at the table for a few moments before finally letting her eyes scan her surroundings. She'd found that, as long as she kept herself busy with something, even something as simple as searching for where her boyfriend and friends were sitting, she was generally okay.
She looked over at the Hufflepuff table first, then scanned the Gryffindor table, then a quick glance at Ravenclaw, then the Slytherins, and finally the staff table.
Where her eyes first landed on the not-empty Ancient Runes professor seat.
Rula blinked for a moment, not quite registering the fact that someone was sitting there or why. And then it hit her.
That seat had been empty for since she had transferred here. Since... They'd kept it empty for that long, and now it was suddenly filled? They'd... They'd actually...
She felt her lower lip tremble and her vision blur, and she knew she couldn't handle sitting through this whole feast. Not like this.
Not when they'd replaced him.
Rula slipped out of her seat and, quietly but quickly, hurried out of the hall.
"
And just where do you think you're going, young lady?" Did he need to beckon their head over? He was thinking so. She had better be making a quick trip to the ladies room.
