Inhaler. Right. Yes! He buried his hand through his bag until he found the inhaler and puffed on it a few times, slowly. It was a few moments before he felt he could face this conversation. "I-I don't need a doctor," he said to Lux's feet. He couldn't look at her, could he?
No, he had to. He had to be a man and look her in the eye. He slowly lifted his own eyes to hers and listened to what she said. He shook his head slowly. "It's not you, Lux. Well it is... but not in that way. I mean... well, YOU have nothing to apologise for." And she didn't, because he had never told her about his feelings. He supposed deep down it was because he was scared she would tell him she had a boyfriend. And she did. And now that boy was her fiancee. He sighed and rubbed his face. "I'm sorry," he said again, "I really am happy for you Lux. You deserve all the happiness, I just didn't know you had a... a Bay. But... well... if you love him then I think he must be a decent man." He was trying to be mature. He didn't want to lose Lux at all. The thought of losing her was more than he could handle.
