Veronica looked at Octavia for a bit before she tipped her head at her as she stepped backwards. “Octopus…why does she call you that? It’s better than ANY nickname Mel…er Melon has given me?” She frowned. “They only ever call me Ronnie…” she added with a huff as she puffed out her cheeks.

The girl looked scared. That was what Veronica thought when she saw her backing away and the only clear thing that changed was that Mel’s friend Ace had showed up….Mel also seemed different awkward? Like she didn’t want to be there?

She had to stop him didn’t she? The prince was not her prince. SHE didn’t need a prince. With a little warrior yell the girl gave Octavia a nod – “I’ll protect you” she added before charging at Ace.

So apparently Prince Charming or a shining Knight isnt what he looks like specially to Ronnie Warrior Princess. He just caught her movement that she was charging, and if he didn’t move, she'd likely hit the crown jewels….

…so he moved. Dropped to a knee as he caught her sword between his arm and his torso, and made like she has slain the big bad "Ohhhhhh……. You got me…. " he warbled and wobbled until he collapsed dramatically onto the floor.

"-- Good job Giant Slayer!..." he looked up for a moment, with a grin and a thumbs up before going dead again.

"It slipped out," Hads said defensively. "Sorry Mel." She shrugged and looked down at Octavia. "Her name is Octavia and it fit. She's a munchkin Octopus."

And Ace was here!!! And ohhh, more of that weirdness between Ace and Mel. She tried to tell herself there was nothing between them, but she remained unsure to be honest. Oh, Hadley beamed at the compliment. "Thanks," She said as both complimented her costume. "Yeah, spandex really isn't my thing. Thanks for helping me pick out a character to go as." Comic books weren't here thing either. She really didn't know many of the superheroes to pick from. Luckily Mel and Ace did.

"Ace, this is Octopus. My neighbor." Whom she often babysat and adored by the way. And then, Ronnie happened and Hadley couldn't help but laugh. She shot the girl an approving look and then glanced down at Ace. He was even great with kids.

Octavia shrugged. "I dunno. But she does. She knows the secret names of everything!," the brunette said with a giggle. Some of those names were very silly and she loved them. "Things tell her their name and talk to her!" Which was really really cool. Octavia tried to get things to talk to her but so far nothing has. Haddie said she just needs to practice her listening.

Getting the girl talking was the best way to get Octopus to warm up to them and slowly and cautiously she started to drift away from the safety of Haddie. And then Ronnie yelled, and Octavia slipped back closer to her babysitter. She watched as Ronnie charged the boy and giggled loudly as he went down. "I want to play!" She charged over after Ronnie, and started to prod Ace with an imaginary sword.
