Cornelius wasn't sure if he wanted to scoff at her or laugh. He actually took a moment to think about it. He opened his mouth to say something and then closed it. Daaaang, Noelle. You left him speechless.
"That's such a stupid thing to assume," he finally said after gathering his wit. "My family fame does not go to my head." And besides, she was no one he needed to give explanations to. Why did that question get to him?
She mum issues? Lovely for her. Cornelius was suddenly back in a mood thanks to her question. He folded his arms on his chest and shook his head. "Nah, I'd rather not." He wasn't about to spill what he felt to someone he just met.
It was hard to be in a mood when someone called you Corny. Cornelius relaxed just a tiny bit. "I'll buy you that book if you tell me, Noelle."
