"Well it's Alana, it's not both of them." Without thinking she sat down in the chair. "Elisa has been showing magical signs since she was five. Alana hasn't. They will be eight this year. All the books say this is late for a witch to start showing and that maybe I should start thinking about support for families that have a squib." Her voice was shaky.

Glancing up at Mariel she couldn't help but break down a bit, "I think Alana is a squib."
Even if Victoria had told her that everything was alright, Mariel was still rather concerned. She could tell that something was very off with her friend and that she has something heavy weighing on her. And now that she knew that it was something about the twins, she really hoped that it was nothing too serious.

Taking a seat at her desk, she gestured for her to take a seat as well. And she gave Victoria her full attention as she began. "Oh.." Mariel reached for her hand as her friend started to break down, being that she was across the desk and a bit far for a hug. "Is it possible that her signs are a little more subdued and you hadn't noticed them as much with Elisa?" Not that she was trying to say that she was unobservant with her own children, she just didn't want to be quick to jump to that. "Of course, you are their mother so you will know better than anyone.."

Mariel trailed off as she paused in thought. She tried to think of how she would feel if she thought one of her children was a squib. Regina had just started to show some signs, though Alejandro was still a little young. There was still something of a stigma attached and it might feel like they were a bit left out. Still, hopefully there was some support out there, but Mariel didn't know a whole lot about it.

"Maybe you should check out the support group, just to see what they say." She didn't think it would hurt at least. "Maybe they can give you a better answer. I know that eight is late, but it's not completely unheard of." Still, she understood her worry as a parent.
