Hogwarts RPG Name: Tenacius "Ace" Salander Graduated x12 x12
| Ability is nothing without Opportunity | | Creativity is Intelligence having FUN So its time to cook! And what recipe will they be doing today?
Tenacius flipped the card over and gazed at the instructions. Well now heres something that he could find pretty darn interesting and useful. Like what boy would turn down the chance to have some extra endurance and stamina on a swig eh?
As he read the instructions he realized that there were some prepping involved. He busied himself with the dragonfly thoraxes, carefully selecting 50 of the freshest pieces-- or at least as fresh as the supply made them available. He set aside 10 of these then lay the remaining on a metal plate for toasting. Mmmmmm this actually smell pretty yummy.
When the dragon thoraxes were nice and toasty he set them aside to cool, then selected 12 doxy eggs. These he had to pick carefully as well, since eggs of any kind can be notoriously sketchy. He examined each egg until he had 12 pretty pearly things, then proceeded to set them next to his dragonfly thoraxes supply.
He grabbed his copper, self stirring pot-- because heat distribution plus efficient equipment is something that no self respecting chef should do without-- and made a quick scourgify into it, just to make sure its nice and clean. He scourgified the measuring cup too, before aquamenti-ing 4 cups water into the pot.
He looked at his card again. So first ingredient was the fairy wings. He selected a set-- after carefully selection of course-- and dropped them into the water filled pot. A flick of incendio and he got a nice heat source going, watching the flame lick the copper surface and observe the subtle reddening of the copper cauldron heating up.
It wasn’t long before the fairy wings soup has turned turquoise, and the soon to be Master Chef knew it was time for the doxy eggs. He cranked down the heat before carefully adding 3 eggs, one at a time, making sure it doesn’t splash carelessly about. When the eggs were in, the Curly Top cranks up the heat again, watching the cool colored mixture turn into an exciting shade of pink.
Now it was time for the dragonfly thoraxes, the ones he prepped from earlier. Again he lowered the heat as he took the metal plate, then counted the toasted ingredient, dropping them one at a time as he observed the pinkness starting to deepen and deepen and deepen some more. He was at his twentieth toasted dragonfly thorax when he decided-- yeah that was plenty red enough. Crank up the heat now? You betcha.
He was tapping the metal plate to the beat of a Wrock song in his head, watching the vibrant red solution slowly turn blue. Gryffindor colors turning into Ravenclaw colors. Heh it was like this potion was made for him.
So now that the solution was pretty Claw-ish, he lessened the heat again. He then started adding the rest of the toasted dragonfly thorax, one at a time, counting counting counting-- oh it looks like the mixture was turning silver faster than he could finish adding the rest of the toasted ingredient. He was only about halfway through. Should he stop? He paused for a moment and watched to see if the color would stabilize... Eh it looked a liiiiitle bit blue-ish tint. Pop in one or two more toasty things... Yep now its perfect.
And crank up the heat he goes again, the silvery stew now turning into a more vibrant shade of red. Back to the Gryffindor colors again awwyeah. But it was time for the rest of the doxy eggs to be added in, so the leonine lad lowered the heat again before adding in the rest of his pearly ingredient, again one at a time and carefully. This stew is hot stuff now. And getting crowded.
When the eggs have been added in, he took the dragonfly thoraxes that he had set aside earlier and added them in, then cranked up the heat again. Once again, Gryffindor colors gave way to Ravenclaw shade. And then he lowered the heat again.
Because now it was time to add the three flying seahorses, and he dropped the fragile ingredient carefully into the stew. Up goes the heat again and now the blue Claw colors gives way to Slythie green.
Well well, now heres a potion even is dad could be proud off.
He slowly turned down the heat until the color has stabilized and it was safe to turn off the heat. While that cooled Tenacius started to label the vials with his credentials... Quote:
Name: Tenacius Astor Salander
Year: 2nd
House: Gryffindor
Potion: Girding Potion.
......then carefully ladled the potion into the vials.
He lined them vials up all in a row for the Professor’s inspection and submission, the nice green solution sitting happily inside them. |
