Her potion was heating along quite nicely. She thought that she was doing quite well. Her potion seemed to be doing all the right things, so she was pretty glad about that. She didn't want to do things badly. She wanted to be good at potions. She made a mental not to ask Grace if she could have her potions cards and revision when she got home. Maybe Grace could help tutor her a little, so she could get better at potions.
Whilst her potion was brewing she looked at her potions card, so she could work out what she was going to have to do next.
About 10 minutes later (maybe she should have turned the heat up) and her potion had turned a nice blue color. "Pretty!" She murmured with a smile, as she looked over at the instructions. "Add the toasted dragonfly things again..." She nodded, and then carefully began adding the thoraxes into the potion. She was careful to add each thorax one by one so that she would know when the potion had turned the silver colour. She counted in her head, so that she knew she wouldn't be adding too many. She didn't want to add too many and ruin her potion.
"And twenty...and silver" Hattie murmured with a big smile! Perfect! It was a lovely color. She loved all of these colors. And now to heat her potion until it was red again. She liked the silver color, but red was the color she needed. She tidied up her bench a little as she waited for her potion to turn into a lovely red colour.
It took about 10 mintues but then she had a red potion. "Perfect" She glanced at the instructions, before working out what to do next. "Doxy eggs!" Smiling, she carefully added the 3 remaining sets of Doxy eggs to her potion. She was careful count each egg, so that she knew she was doing it correctly. She didn't want to get anything wrong, especially when she felt that she was doing really well.
Crossing that out on her potions card, she went on to the next instruction. She added the remaining 10 untoasted thoraxes into her potion, and carefully began heating it up again, until it had turned to a nice blue colour. She really liked this colour to be honest. It was pretty. Shame it couldn't say like that. Maybe she'd do a drawing with this colour though.
And yay. She was done to the last bit of the potion. Carefully she added the three flying seahorses to her potion, and then allowed it to heat up until it was the nice green colour. Green wasn't as nice as blue, but it was okay. To be honest it was not greeny green, but it seemed green, and she figured that was good enough. She was happy.
Happy that she had done a good job, Hattie pulled some of her potion into a vial, before cleaning all her mess up. She labelled her potion popped it onto the professor's desk and then left.
