¼ of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pls This final was a piece of cake.
Well, every final for Katherine Mary Moss was a piece of cake, but this was even piece-ier. She had all it took to be a good potioneer: Attention, perfectionist tendencies, patience, memory. She memorised ALL the potions they had learnt this year. She was going to ACE this one.
She entered the laboratory and waved at her dorm mates. She was even smiling, which was very odd of her before an exam. She sat down at the front, away from people she knew (because no helping each other!!!) and impatiently counted down the minutes to the start...
...
FINALLY the professor gave them the permission to begin and she flipped over the card.
Oh.
Her face fell. Not because she didn't know the potion (psh, please!) but because every single ingredient, down to the weight, was written; as well as all the steps. WHAT exactly did this examine? Their ability to read? This wasn't even a piece of cake, this was THE cake itself. EVERYONE was going to get it right, which meant that she wouldn't shine like the North Star at the darkest moment.
Mweh.
With a disappointed look, she cleaned her tools and cauldron. Then, she lined up the ingredients according to their order in the potion. Finally, she weighed every ingredient and set aside the excess. This was, she wouldn't need to worry about getting the right amount at the right time. After all was done could she finally add 4 cups of water, a set of fairy wings and start a fire under the cauldron.
Why were they partnered up with FIRST years but not third? |
