Over time though, she had grown to like being in the Ever-Locked Room.
She had time to herself... all the time. Sometimes she forgot that anyone else even worked in this Department. Quote:

Stepping inside the chamber after dealing with the heavily locked up door Addison smiled softly to herself. Had it not been for her years of training and working inside here herself the many forces given off from the cauldrons with love potions and the large fountain of Amorentia that stood in the center the women might not have made it even this far. Thankfully she was able to withstand the pull of the scents around her and was able to walk around pretty much unbothered.
Blue eyes roamed around the sections checking to see what was being brewed in each cauldron. Was everything being kept clean when not in use? Did anything need to be restocked or put away? Chances were slim to none normally as her employees were very good about this sort of thing but it never hurt to check on her own. Plus it was nice to sometimes have things ordered and restocked before it was even asked for. Cauldron washing was tedious and boring, but necessary and Adam had learned over the past year that sometimes his coworkers didn’t do a very thorough job at it. So, he’d taken it upon himself to do most of the equipment washing. This way, he knew there would be no chance of any cross-contaminates messing up his experiments and research. He hung the last of a gaggle of cauldrons up to dry and grabbed a towel to wipe his hands. Two minutes later he was heading back to his desk.
He resisted the urge to whistle, despite being rather jolly. It was hard to be irritable in a chamber that was dedicated to the study of love, and Adam knew that if he ever did seem a bit melancholy, he could just wander a bit closer to the fountain of Amorentia and that would perk him right up. As it was, just walking past it at a considerable distance, his sensitive sniffer picked up the faintest trace of mint, dirt, and broom polish. His eyes closed momentarily and he sighed. When he opened them, he was walking past a coworker’s station. “Hallo,” he said with a smile. “It is Sam, ya?” he asked in heavily accented English.
The door opened and Adam looked in the direction to see their Department Head walk in. Adam waved to her, wondering if she’d brought treats. It seemed that every interaction he’d ever had with the woman had included food and almost like a trained puppy, he had come to expect it hoped the trend would continue. Adam, after all, did love food even if his physique didn’t show it. He always had a bit of a sickly white pallor and looked like he hadn’t eaten in weeks. He tucked his hands into the pockets of his lab robes and rocked on his feet for a moment wondering briefly why Addison was in the room. Department Heads rarely visited the work areas and it made him speculate her reasons for visiting.
