Seriously, she did NOT want to use one of the school owls. She didn't trust them. And they were gross. No way was she touching them.

Ok, but you know that feeling when someone is looking at you and you can't see them but you just know that their eyes are boring into some part of you? That feeling was creepy-crawling all over Nicky's skin right now as Maggie stared at the red letter.

When she lifted her eyes and caught Maggie's, Nicky's eyes instantly narrowed, even as her fingers continued to caress the owl's feathers before she sent him off. "Did you need something?" she inquired, not hiding any of the disdain in her voice, even as Maggie looked away to consider owls again.
