Odd that Professor Primeaux would choose to start the lesson with a reminder that nothing here would harm them. Maybe they would deb doing something that seemed dangerous. What spells would she use if she thought a dangerous object carrying dangerous gasses was coming at her? The gears were turning in Penelope's head. What kind of object was it? How big was it? How far away was it? How fast was it moving? What kind of gas was in it? "You could use a bubble head charm to protect yourself from inhaling dangerous gases. To try to prevent the object from reaching you, you could use immobulus or arresto momentum, or banish it somewhere away from you with depulso, and put up a shield with a strong version of protego. A caterwauling charm might warn you when the object gets close to you if you can't see where it is." Depended on the exact situation. Would they be learning how to defend themselves against a similar but harmless object? Was that what all the open space was for? This was going to be an interesting lesson, hopefully not of the type where anyone could actually get hurt.
