19. Jelly Legs

James dropped his wand, which rolled towards Lily. "Oh Merlin I can't believe I just did that."
"You think you're the only one BOTHERED with this?" Lily said, waving her hands over her large belly.
James groaned. "No, Lil, I'm sorry. I just hate seeing you in pain, what can I do?"
"Nothing, James." She paused to pant through another contraction before continuing.. "Just rub my back or... or something."

But he didn't rub her back. Or even touch her. He turned and went to leave.
"LOCOMOTOR WIBBLY!" Lily shouted, pointing James' own wand at him.
James fell with a loud thud to the wooden floor.
"Bring- him- here," she gasped between breaths. "Don't you DARE try to leave me when- uuuuggghhhhh- when I'm giving birth to YOUR child, you giant toerag."

All it took was a quick wave of his wand for Dumbledore to reverse the jelly legs hex. Resigned to being by his wife's side for the birth of their first child, James stood up and started to rub Lily's back.
