Oh Merlin, a duel. Not YATI training, not skill qualification training, not an actual mission but a duel. Lex hadn't had one of those in ages. When was the last time she cast a spell without the intention for it to cause sever damage? It was all very nostaglic, in fact it brought her back to her own duels here. Back then, she'd spent more time on offensive magic than defensive and her shields were of the questionable variety--but that couldn't take you far in the real world and she'd had to address it.

Now she had to address the issue of her arsenal. What would be okay for casting? Lex took in the expressionless face of the Gryffindor. She remembered when he'd just gotten there. She'd had to take him and all his little year mates to their Common Room on the night of the opening feast. He'd always been a spunky little thing, making this stoic Frankie a little odd but she'd go with it.

The Auror bowed (haha when's the last time she bowed before hitting someone??) then spun on her heels and counted out the necessary steps.

On an average day, Lex exercised constant vigilance. Having done the demo, her guard wasn't lowered in the slightest. It was for that reason that she didn't immediately try casting. Frankie was a Gryffindor. There was a high chance he'd hit before he thought to shield and in truth, so would she a few years ago but right now? "Protego Maxima!" The invisible shield from earlier returned only seconds before the first spell exploded against its surface.

She watched the spells go up in brilliant light one by one--the last, admittedly took her by surprise as she hadn't heard him cast it but an explosion was an explosion so she wouldn't complain. The moment his spells stopped, she lowered the nearly impenetrable shield. "Avis!!" Followed by a quick, "Oppugno!" She watched the flock of conjured birds make a beeline for the boy, squawking and making the most raucous fuss they could as they descended.

With his hands possibly tied, Lex wasted no time in continuing her assault. "Deprimo!" Nothing to fracture him, but he'd feel a great weight if he didn't get out of there.
