Truth be told that it wasn't exactly a bad thing for it wasn't but today she wasn't in need of anything. There were no birthdays or holidays coming up. So the only reason for the days visit was the fact that she would be spoiling some children. Her own to be exact. Koen was doing fairly decent in his studies lately despite the boys somewhat unruly behavior and it was coming upon that time of year both of them dreaded. The anniversary of the day her husband had gone missing. Today was one of those days were it felt like just yesterday he was standing behind her and they were picking out a stuffed dragon for their son and others if felt like a million light-years ago.
With a small sigh the blonde slowly made her way down the toy aisle checking out the childrens chess sets. Maybe it would interest Koen and keep his attention for five minutes but probably not. If it didn't involve something blowing up, flying, his guitar or dragons the boy just didn't seem to care. Setting the chess set down she continued to move down the aisle stopping at the stuffed animals and dolls.
A beautiful brightly colored purple and pink fairy doll had caught her attention and she picked it up. Luna her baby niece would probably love this. The colors were enchanting and could hold her attention. Sure, the child was still only a baby a mere four and a half months but that didn't mean she couldn't get her something nice that she could cherish for years to come. This toy was coming with her... but now she would need something for Lukas. You couldn't get something for one twin and not the other.
He had waited for her outside of the Ministry. One could say Connor had stalked his wife. He followed her to the balloon stand, watching her every move. She looked beautiful as ever and she still took his breath away. Connor wanted to go say something to her but what exactly? He had been away from her for such a long time. And their son? He would be grown up by now. Not quite a teen but getting there.
Connor watched Addison pick up a toy and decided he couldn't stand it anymore. He took tentative steps until he was standing right beside her. The man could smell her perfume, the scent he was very familiar with and could never forget it. "The doll's almost as beautiful as you are, Addison,'' he said softly. |
