And he felt it prudent to get his thoughts on how to take care of the problem? Yep. That was settled. They were buddies now. James was agreeing with his thoughts. Therefore making him right. "Then it appears we have a bigger problem that the Headmaster must be aware of now." Because he can only do so much without the head honcho's approval.
Sure. Fine. Justin could totally forget the compliment he earned. Was that a giggle he heard? "Whatever you say.." Denial didn't last very long anyway, so they could swiftly move on to important matters... or not, from the random sight of weirdly-dressed creatures. "What the.." Merlin's soiled undergarments were gnomes doing up on his doorstep. And why were they dressed in.. oh. It was that time of the year wasn't it? Did he need to go American and punt them into the forest? Nah.. because before he knew it they were circling around James and... singing.

Boy.... oh boy, oh boy, oh boy... What a dashing secret. It took every working of his facial muscles and mental coaching to not even grin let alone let out that burst of laughter. But he somehow managed. How did he? Well, it was obvious how much James wanted to pretend it never happened from the lack of reference. Did he have a special secret going on with the sender? That was okay. Justin could keep another secret. They were fun to collect.
So instead the Groundskeeper took a few steps closer bridging the gap between the two adults.. and brushed a few of the confetti off his face with his hands so he could see before stepping back to take his wand cleaning up the rest off of him and the ground. There. All better.
".. Would you like some water?" To continue the conversation indoors, of course. He still wanted to hear of James' part of the plan after all.
Of course the man couldn’t understand the true purpose of this visit. Honestly, Justin probably couldn’t figure it out even if it were dancing on his own head. ”Appears so,” part of the bigger problem was that Justin was incapable of doing his job here, but that was something the Headmaster could figure out on his own. James didn’t want to have to deal with the groundskeeper anymore than he had to in this moment. This was insufferable.
Justin and the stupid garden gnome parade.
With gritted teeth he replied, ”Sounds fantastic,” though it actually didn’t. Something stronger than water, perhaps? Now that’d actually be fantastic.
