He heard the words...but they didn't make sense.

For the longest time, Blaise stood staring up at the Professor. Personal items he'd leave behind but..."I can't go in without my quill." Not said with any amount of defiance but something more resembling discomfort born from a compulsion to document. "It won't record anything if it stays out here...nothing except the rats and the leaking noises and the spiders. It's a talented quill but there's only so much of a story you can make out of that."

He had his wand and was fully prepared to cooperate but...his quill...it was sort of a deal breaker in that respect.

"I don't have to need it to keep it with me."
