Resident Hippie A smallish, brown haired girl entered the great hall with her jaw hanging open in awe. Her mother had been right, this room was incredible! Hogwarts seemed to be one of the rare places where the actual experience lived up the the stories and expectations you'd built up in your head.
Too busy to notice where she was walking, Toni Wheeler headed toward the Slytherin table face turned up to the magical ceiling, only realizing she'd reached her destination when her shin connected with the bench with an audible crack.
"Dang it!" she exclaimed, American accent clear and echoing around the hall. Leaning forward she briskly rubbed the sore spot on her leg. That was sure to leave a bruise. 'Bad enough you're starting in the middle of term, now you have to go and make a first impression like that? Nice job Wheeler." she thought with a grimace.
Seating herself at the table and still grumbling about her throbbing shin, Toni reached for the nearest tasty treat and began loading her plate. As she chewed she mentally made a list of things to see around the castle. 'First stop, the lake.' she thought, smiling at the clear blue sky over head.
Glancing back down at her place she added, 'After food.' |
